Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)

Rating: 7/10
Runtime 102 minutes

It's rare for a movie sequel to surpass the original. Yet when compared to Antonio Banderas's initial "Puss in Boots," this follow-up film is truly exceptional. The sequel explores darker themes of mortality and the fear of death, utilizing a more somber humor to address these subjects. Meanwhile, Puss in Boots evolves from a one-dimensional character into a figure with greater depth and complexity. Despite these changes, the film successfully maintains a sense of delightful, exhilarating fun that will captivate children and keep them eagerly watching until the end.

"You know, when you said Death was after you, I thought you were just being melodramatic."

You should not watch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish if... Whats the deal with...
Warning: The following may contain spoilers:

What’s the deal with "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish"? I mean, let's talk about the whole idea of a cat playing the role of a swashbuckling hero. Have you ever seen a cat in real life? They’re more likely to take a nap in the middle of a fight than to save the day. It's like asking a sloth to run a marathon!

But despite all this, I have to admit, the movie is pretty entertaining. It's got action, it's got adventure, it's got a cat in boots. What more could you want? Maybe for the cat to actually catch the red laser dot for once, but hey, we can't have everything!
