Aladdin (2019)

Rating: 8/10
Runtime 128 minutes

"Aladdin" is a live remake of the "Aladdin" cartoon.

The cartoon was voiced by the inimitable Robin Williams.

Robin Williams only agreed to voice the Genie if Disney did not promote the Genie as being bigger than Aladdin.

Of course, Aladdin did promote Robin Williams as the Genie.

So, when Disney did the live remake, Will Smith played the Genie.

While Will Smith lacks Robin Williams' frenetic improvisation skills, Will Smith sure does sing a lot better.

I actually prefer the live remake, but only by a smidge.
